This is the 2nd year we have done custom award medals for the SAR Wild Run that happens in Fresno CA area. It is an annual fundraiser for the Fresno County Search And Rescue. Featuring 5K, 10K and family run, the route passes through the scenic area of Shaver Lake, breathtaking meadows, forests and cool streams.
The big foot figure has been the center of the design for the finisher medal. This year we are kicking it up a notch! The organizers would like to feature the big foot in 3D, adding a bit of flare to its design. Check out below the original design. In order for us to create a custom 3D race medal, our skilled graphic artist uses a special 3D software to re-create the artwork to add depth to the design. After that we are onto making mold and a sample medal.
When the first sample medal is ready, we felt that it would have a bigger impact if the big foot was even bigger! Subsequent revision was made to the artwork and mold. See the side by side difference between the 2 samples. Guess which one the client finally decide to go with?
The antique bronze finish on the medal adds subtle texture and sculptural look. The neckband ribbon features full color dye-sublimation ribbon with graphics throughout the entire length of ribbon.
Look at these happy runners with their award medals after they finished the refreshing run. Good job guys!
